Meet Modern Vasari

My inspiration comes from my first trip to the Louvre. I spent hours wandering the galleries with no idea what I was looking at or why it mattered. I left disappointed, feeling like I didn’t fully appreciate the art and like I didn’t have the tools to learn more about it.

In fact, I was so frustrated that I earned an art history degree in addition to my other studies. I studied under some of the best, and learned three things: art history is absolutely fascinating, art is way more fun when you know what you’re looking at, and the art world should be much more accessible and enjoyable for everyone, from first time museum-goers to PhD holders.

All of my content, from my Feel Smart About Art museum guides to my Instagram posts, are designed to make art history fun and easy to learn, so that everyone can enjoy art and get the most out of their visits to the art gallery.

Modern Vasari is named in recognition of the father of art history, Georgio Vasari, who made Renaissance art interesting and accessible to the public. Modern Vasari aspires to continue his mission in the 21st century.
